I have long used the double back tap to run a shortcut to set the media volume to 0 and switched it to the action button. I work in video production which involves long hours of sitting around and moments where absolute silence is crucial. This was I confirm a video isn’t going to loudly announce itself in the middle of a take. It’s also just generally useful in public.

I have the camera during the day and when the focus switches to night mode it toggles the light to the bathroom, so I can easily turn on the lights when I have to go at night.
Toggle on/off the always-on display. That way if I’m at dinner with friends or whatever it doesn’t distract me, but when I’m at my desk I can see things anytime.
You can also have this automated with focus modes, I have a “party” mode that’s like a half-dnd when I’m being social, and it turns AOD off and a bunch of other stuff
I've got it set up as a panic button so I can press it every time the EU debates interface compatibility.
Flashlight for now, but I really want it to bring up the Apple TV remote. Maybe someday
Thanks for the idea!
Hopefully this link works for you - https://www.icloud.com/shortcuts/f326d80aad5f4760810c629ef896f135
Very basic shortcut that will open the remote control app when run.
Wow it works, this is awesome! Thanks!
I open Authy with it. 2FA is pain in the ass but with this is it’s much more convenient.
I actually have the double back tap open 1Password and triple back tap open Authy right now. Maybe I should move both to the button.
Why not move 2FA to 1pass?
Feels like having both the password and 2fa at the same place defeats the purpose of 2fa
I use it as an automation to go to the homescreen. I miss having a home button
I’ve left it at the default
I have mine set to toggle orientation lock akin to the iPads of old. I’m LOVING it, and easily use it many times a day as I watch videos look at photos and play games, it’s especially useful in bed laying sideways and useful as sometimes it’s a game to see which corner control center is in
Ooh, I actually loved orientation lock too! Forgot that it was a thing

Mine runs a Siri shortcut that triggers a script on my home assistant server to remote start my car. Incredibly useful.
If I felt like porting the python script to Siri Shortcuts, I could do it natively, but that seems like too much work
Why do you need to remotely start the car? Do you live somewhere cold so that it needs to warm up?
Chicago - either warm up in the winter, or cool down in the summer
I am using it for the flashlight. I hope to get fancy with a shortcut, but I don’t have one picked out yet.
I’m thinking maybe I will try it for my receipt scanning shortcut on a future business trip.
Not iPhone, but I'll reply anyways.
Double click on wake up button opens the camera. One click on the programmable side button for notes, long press for my expenses logging app and for the another programmable button, one click for flashlight and long click for my fuel consumption and expenses tracking app.
