The Trump campaign raised more than $45 million during the third quarter of 2023, it announced Wednesday, easily surpassing the former president’s rivals in the 2024 GOP primary.

The campaign said it has more than $37.5 million cash on hand, with close to $36 million of it designated for use in the primary campaign.

The significant haul came during the months of July, August and September, during which Trump was indicted in Washington, D.C., for his attempts to remain in power after losing the 2020 election and indicted in Georgia for his efforts to overturn the election results there. Prosecutors also brought additional charges in that time frame related to Trump’s retention of classified documents.

All going to his defense fund.

For sure. Unless his lawyers are complete idiots, they're getting paid quite a bit to ~~lie~~ argue on his behalf.

And just wait for the lawsuits from his former lawyers saying he didn't pay them for their services. With his namesake business org being liquidated, he's cash poor for someone embroiled in so many lawsuits and campaigning.

But I thought he didn't pay his lawyers? I think the money just goes to hairspray, show inserts, coke for jr's cocaine dependency. Ha I'm kidding on the last one he doesn't care about his kids, just the bangable ones. Edit: he doesn't pay his lawyers actively.

I think I heard somewhere that all of his lawyers are being paid from PACs and that some of them insist on being paid upfront.

In other news, the hateful and gullible elder demographic blames Biden because they are millions short of covering their living expenses.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Well, his lawyers will be happy that there is some meat to be distributed.

On the other hand, f-ck those idiots who still throw money at this criminal.

They may not realize they’re still getting charged on their CC.

Lol what campaign? Dude is a criminal piece of shit. If he is even allowed to try to run for presidency, this country is completely broken and needs a major overhaul.

Some of the people all of the time...

is this a self-reported number? or should we really take it at face value and believe it’s accurate?

"The dollar bills came up to me, big, strong dollar bills, with tears in their eyes, saying, 'Sir, it is an honor to have you spend us. Unlike your son, who just rolls us into little tubes and sticks us in his nostrils.' Did I mention they had tears in their eyes and Mar-a-Lago is worth $26.8 billion?"
