I am looking for mods!

1. The "good" part of our community means we are pro-empathy and anti-harassment. However, we don't intend to make this a "safe space" where everyone has to be a saint. Sh*t happens, and life is messy. That's why we get things off our chests.

2. Bigotry is not allowed. That includes racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, xenophobia, and religiophobia. (If you want to vent about religion, that's fine; but religion is not inherently evil.)

3. Frustrated, venting, or angry posts are still welcome.

4. Posts and comments that bait, threaten, or incite harassment are not allowed.

5. If anyone offers mental, medical, or professional advice here, please remember to take it with a grain of salt. Seek out real professionals if needed.

6. Please put NSFW behind NSFW tags.

i'm genuinely starting to believe that some sort of demon or satan himself is inside me. i know it's not real and i should get help, which i am getting, but i just needed some comfort or perhaps anecdotes. no criticism please and i don't think i need advice, i'm getting help and i will talk to someone. it feels like a demon is giving me urges to say mean things i normally wouldnt say. i'm crazy aren't i?

i just need comfort or perhaps someone share similar experiences.

To paraphrase George Carlin: why do the voices always say to do evil things? Why aren't they ever like "go take a shit on the salad bar"

Intrusive thoughts are absolutely normal. If you're literally hearing audio, then yeah that's a medical thing to look into. But if you're just getting "bad" ideas, that's not necessarily a problem unless it becomes so frequent that you think it's a problem. A lot of mental health is like that. I.e. if it starts to bother you, it's worth working on.

I hope it all works out for you!

Ren - Hi Ren. Highly recommend watching the music video when listening to this song.

You may be crazy, but you aren't the only one who has struggles even if their struggles are different than your own.

Best of luck

I had a friend who went through something similar. It kind of came from nowhere ( from my perspective, he seemed fine up until that point but he lives in another town and we really only talked via phone and text ). One day he called me out of the blue from an unknown # and needed a ride from a location that was very strange to me. I won't get into the details but he needed help. After I picked him up I was able to get him around some of his family members and we convinced him to go to a hospital. He stayed for a few days and things eventually smoothed out. That was a couple years ago.

He eventually got on the right meds and everything is fine. He said it did take a few tries to get the correct medication.

I asked him how he felt when it was happening and he said it must have been going on for a long time and built up to that day. He was smoking a lot of thc, and that seemed to be the trigger for an underlying issue.

It's good that you are aware and will be seeking help. There is nothing wrong with that and it's the right thing to do. I'm wishing you luck ✌️

I hope others can respond with their personal experiences to help ease you through this !

You don't feel crazy, you just go crazy. The fact that you are self aware enough to know something is amiss is a good sign.

that's good that i'm self aware then, at least, thank you

You are welcome.

Sometimes, though it makes no logical sense, it isn’t a bad idea to fight fire with fire. Maybe find some way to create a ritual you can do at home to exorcise the feeling of demons.

Also, go to therapy. There is nothing wrong with multiple angles of attack when dealing with a problem like yours.

Just be careful to avoid charlatans or anybody who wants to charge you a lot of money for some sort of spiritual healing—those people are frauds.

It's good that you're getting help when you need it. I also see a lot of people having problems with cognitive functions lately. I think it's caused by a number of things:

  1. Politics. I'm not expanding that one.
  2. The aftermath of Covid-19. Lots of people with brain fog and other lingering issues of body and mind.
  3. The temperature. temperatures above 22 °C/72 °F can also cause brain fog.
  4. Atmospheric CO2 levels. The current levels of CO2 in the atmosphere can cause indoors levels to peak higher than before. It has health risks.
  5. Unhealthy online habits. I find it quite difficult to not fall for the "engagement" traps designed to make you stick around on different websites, so you can be served more ads. The ads are not the problem, the bait is a lot of times.

i dont know if youre crazy or not, thats on you to evaluate and decide.

however, i have been struggling with some delusion and paranoia. i been feeling like i served my purpose and thinking its my time to end. before recent events i was thinking i would find my purpose and then my life would end. i FELT it so strongly i couldnt ignore it at all. all day every day. now im trying to put together the pieces of my mind and heart because i made some bad decisions when i felt like i had no time left and started fearing everyone in my life. am i crazy to think and feel that something touched me and told me i was gonna die after i did what i was meant to do?

No, that's for a qualified medical professional to diagnose...

I recently lost my shit on a neighbor who started yelling obscenities at me because my dogs weren't leashed. He was in the right to be upset, but he didn't need to act like that.

It's not the first time it's happened, and it's not common thankfully, but I kind of snap into another personality where I essentially start to troll them, pushing emotional buttons to create as much anger and rage in them as I can, while walking on the razor's edge of inciting actual violence. It's intoxicating in a way, and I feel like shit for hours afterward.

This is not who I am at any other time in my life, and I feel like I'm possessed by a demon when it happens. I think these are what Carl Jung described as our Shadows.

[–] Tweekerz@sh.itjust.works 2 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

do you know why it's happening?? i'm so sorry.

[–] Nay@feddit.nl 2 points 15 hours ago

I assume it's because I had a sibling who would lose their shit on me growing up, and I'm just now learning to stand up for myself. There's a lot of pent up anger and frustration that comes out when someone treats me like that that I haven't learned quite how to control yet.
