Melbcat has begun punishing me with farts.

Get up and disturb her by pulling the jacket corner she’s got trapped? Toot. Paying attention to vidya? She walks over the keyboard and crop dusts right under my nose.

In between shopping and travelling on the train and doing housework and listening to podcasts and eating I have been reading some papers on cone shells of Victoria. The upshot is they haven't been properly studied and no one really knows how many species there are. So my reference is still up to date even tho it's 70 years old. The work just hasn't been done, too many species and not enough universities or museums to do studies.

So I took a pic of my reference book with my new shell and took a pic of a small part of my collection of Victorian shells.

It was an absolutely beautiful day to be outside mowing. The self propelled mower was definitely appreciated, the ground is quite lumpy and it makes pushing a bit more effort, combined with patchy clumps of grass rather than a proper lawn. I didn't do any edges, that can be a next time thing (and hopefully I'll have found all the batteries and charges and things I'll need by then!)

It's not exactly hot, but it is warm enough I've turned on the ducted cooling fan to push a bit of fresh air through the house. It's nice having that bit of air movement, I don't think the layout of the house would work to create much airflow even with windows open.

Heading in the general direction of Marvel Stadium. First dinner, then foomptball

Spent today bingeing season 3 of Squid Game. Managed to avoid spoilers so I was not prepared for that ending!

Across the road they're playing Achy Breaky Heart club mix.

I can hear the raucous, obnoxious Saturday night doof doof and associated vibrations, and I am renewed in my desire to gtfo from here and never live this close to the city ever again...

E: tonight is particularly bad. It's coming from at least two of the houses/units around here. It is unprecedentedly loud. I want to stab someone. Aaaaarghghgh

I went to Brunnie to shop for some extra jumpers and walking past the NQR window I noticed boxes of packets of Beef Flavoured Instant Porridge . It has no meat, only meat flavour. Indeed. That's called Gruel. They are now selling gruel on Sydney road. 🫴🥣

I haven't been to the beach in ages. I shall go when I'm done with all my crap. Winter beach (no swim because cold) hits.
