I'd like to use Mastodon a little more and I want to find some new accounts to follow. I also thought this would be a fun way for all of us to engage about the platform! What are your favorite accounts that you follow?

Mostly just that I value their opinions on current events, and I admire their work. :)

I probably should have said that haha

Elena is a journalist who is big in the Fediverse. She just put out a video about it. You should be able to find it on her posts.

Westenberg is another writer who moved to the fediverse

I just like what they post. If I find an interesting post (usually because someone I follow boosted it), I look at the author's other posts, and if I find them interesting, I follow them.

There is also a list of accounts with the most followers: https://fedidb.com/accounts.

Awesome, thank you for this! Following Ars Technica and Robert Reich now, for sure!

@EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu

Only one I follow that is not specialized. It's less gloom and doom then other news :)

[–] JargonWagon@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Love that, we need more uplifting news every once in a while. Followed!

What, no coach Gowron? That's unforgivable.

I've just realized that the coach hasn't posted since March, and now I'm sad.

Also @auschwitzmuseum@mastodon.world

I follow George Takei and Cory Doctorrow, too.

[–] JargonWagon@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

There is now! Followed!

I love Technology Connections as a YT channel, and I enjoy their posts on Mastodon under their account @TechConnectify@mas.to, though most are simply advertising new videos for their YT channel.
