we actually have major news media posing the question "should he or should he not" obey the courts, as if ignoring them is actually an acceptable course of action.

Except that isn't how the question was worded...
As you may know, a number of Trump administration actions have been challenged in the United States federal court. If a federal court rules that a Trump administration action is illegal, do you think the administration:
Has to follow the court's ruling and stop its action. (81)
Doesn't have to follow the court's ruling and can continue its action. (19)
I bolded some words for emphasis here, the question is not whether he should but whether they think he has to. Important difference.
Okay, but still, what is the question? The president and his administration do have to follow the law, without any doubt. That's just how governments work??
So, the only way this question makes sense to me is if it's meant as:
- The president is a traitor (as in this is the definition of treason, not I don't like him politically), are you okay with that?
- Is our judicial system so broken that the President has to act around it?
- Were you sick when they explained how the government works in school?
I mean, yeah, kinda. They wrote it in an attempt at having language that doesn't influence the respondent, but you've got the idea. It's more about the respondent's opinion, not necessarily the reality of a president bound by laws.
It's a topic that has been discussed in the news elsewhere, usually with the quote from Andrew Jackson, "John Marshall has made his decision; now let him enforce it!"
The people who said no would probably love for Trump to have a similar quote.

We need to reject and ignore these news organizations until they are bankrupt, stop watching, cancel subscriptions, call sponsors.
What worst is that a significant amount of respondents said that he should ignore them.
In my opinion, they likely also feel they can disregard laws, too. So if the commander in chief doesn't need to honor his oath and protect the constitution, why should any of his maga followers in the military honor theirs? Same with cops. Revenge and lawlessness are officially approved.
Okay so the sane people are on board with a coherent reality and the weirdo freaks are split 50/50.
Shocking such a high number of them are willing to accept a court ruling against their beloved monarch. Maybe there is hope?

As long as you can disconnect them from the stream of misinformation that still flows in the media and social media. As an example my brother is a MAGA that would highly benefit from realizing nothing about MAGA will help him, yet when he sees the LA Protests, all he sees are "Protestor shoots other shooter in LA riots" alongside photos of people holding up Mexican flags next to burning cars.
Many of these people have been brainwashed for an incredible number of years that the brown criminals, the flamboyant gays, etc are threatening their way of life and the biggest enemy to America.
Then their healthcare gets shittier, egg prices go up, etc and they blame Biden or whatever because it's the same misinformation feed meant to keep them angry at the wrong people. Half of the /r/conservative subreddit is still just blaming kamala for things and "investigating" the conspiracy theory of Biden being able to be president while having cancer among doing everything but realizing what is happening.
COVID restrictions are basically over but this is the top post on /r/conservative right now
And the reddit conservative community is tame. The shit flowing across facebook, instagram, shitter, truth social etc is far worse.
I hear ya. You're describing my sister. I finally got her a bit shook when she called me and told me how bad LA is. I asked if she new how big LA was and if she had wTched the serial views..
Forced her to watch a live feed of the "devastation". She was a bit shook and said all she had seen was the news from face book. Still. A seed was planted, though she tried to wave it off as trump wanting to prevent it from burning.
I could hear it though.

They experienced a whole ass previous four year term, culminating in the USA becoming the covid capital of the world and over a million people dying from it just in that one country, and were like, "Yeah, let's do that again."
At this point MAGA Republicans are the extreme minority. I don't give a fuck what they care about.
