'We didn't know about the attacks yet vetoed a part of it'

I have a hard time believing they didn't know of and weren't complicit in the attack on Iran. They just diverted an arms shipment from Ukraine to ~~Israel~~ that specifically are claimed to counter Iranian drones

Edit: I saw it was to Israel on the BBC I think, but this article says otherwise

Sounds like bullshit to me

I interpret this as a way for Trump to position himself as the "good cop" rather than as a factual description of something that actually happened, or else I would be concerned about how such sensitive secret information is apparently being casually given away to news agencies.

I really think that's just all it is. Trump just loves the idea of Kings and dictators. He doesn't like the idea of them dying cuz well they're what he aspires to be.

While true, i think that in this particular case it is more that reason prevailed. If Israel just goes out assassinating foreign head of states and the US supports that, it will be open season quickly and a very good way of starting world war 3.

[–] Windex007@lemmy.world 24 points 21 hours ago

I don't even think it's true.

This sounds like Trump floundering to take credit for anything. And in the absence of something, he invented a hypothetical

The thing that probably scared Turnip is not WWIII but rather the idea that free for all assassinations would mean that he would be one of the first to get shot at.

I noticed that he had a thick bulletproof screen on the podium on Saturday. Maybe he thinks he’s riled a few people.

~~Reason~~ Gulf money prevailed indeed.

At this point Khamenei at his age would probably prefer actual martyrdom over being these idiot's bargaining chip and a prop for their demented shows pretending to be reasonable if it ever got to that point.

Holy crap, the amount of delusion in these threads is appalling.

It's like you people are literally incapable of admitting democrats aren't going to challenge israel.

[–] Soulg@ani.social 3 points 13 hours ago

Are you in the wrong post? Nobody even remotely insinuated that

We all know Trump & most of Washington takes orders from Netanyahu, not the other way around.
