General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

!ukpolitics@lemm.ee appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(

Judge should give then the haeshest punishment possible, so they think again before saying contempt isn't appropriate. What isn't appropriate is fascism.

«There has been "a full and comprehensive investigation" which came to the conclusion that "the errors that had been made had not been deliberate" and that "there had been no misleading or lying", MI5's barrister said.»

Bull-fucking-shit. They are still trying their best to cover up and save face as much as they can.

Agree fully they need punishment.

Their is a need for secracy within any nations security system. But abuse of that secracy to cover up individual errors requires firm action to ensure a democratic control.

Unfortunately labeling individuals or groups fascist when they abuse that security privilege. Just weakens the respect for that protection.

We have no way of knowing if the motivation was to enhance the authority/control of a far right idealism. Or to protect the arses of a few individuals. The latter is just abuse from survival instincts. And commonly can apply to socialist communists or any other political ideology.

Can't believe we're getting GTA 6 before MI7.
