i have almost every nba and nfl subs blocked on reddit. i dont care about your overpayed players and fixed matches, and watching adverts on every imaginable free space on the screen. fuck this whole thing sideways.

Professional sport is the new Roman games, don't worry, the more normies quit Reddit, the more people with interest in it will join Lemmy, I'm not surprised there's no interest at the moment if the place is built on the back of a bunch of anti centralization nerds.

Why does anyone like mock battles with millionaires contesting an inflated pig carcass, to waste a third of their time with garbage ads for medical advice and the worst products and services in any given category.

!Funhole@lemmy.sdf.org is actually the 3rd largest NFL oriented community in the fediverse.

Perhaps because people are busy trying to survive and don't have the time or inclination to watch a ball being professionally played with.

Watching baseball and some other sports has helped keep me sane while I struggle to survive. Might not be for you but many others love it.

Sounds reasonable to me my friend. However the discussion was related to why sport communities aren't currently active, not whether sports have value to individuals.

It always brightens my day when a bun alert crosses my feed.

[–] AlligatorBlizzard@sh.itjust.works 9 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Could have also been !taneggs@lemmy.ca

(Nice to know that kind of community link now works on Jerboa)

Sometimes there are posts about formula 1. Like formula 1 but not crashing. I don't know how the hot/active/new/whatever algorithm works so...

Is this the peak?

I block both sports and bunny communities equally.
