I’m sorry is this like some halftime game that’s what’s gonna push this “team” to make the other look silly for a minute. Like why is this a game-ify of a title and responsibility of gov officials. Like come on!

[–] Phegan@lemmy.world 3 points 2 hours ago

Waiting 2 years to implement a plan when he is actively destroying everything so it will take decades to rebuild, is a bold plan.

By not fighting the current despot's plans? Are they hoping to hurt us so much we will turn up at the polls? WTF are they doing to earn our confidence?

Replace these sick fucks with AOCs and Kat Abu type people.

[–] Zenith@lemm.ee 0 points 13 minutes ago

I feel unsafe voting for democrats. I have no interest having it down on paper that I’ve voted against the trump regime.

[–] bradorsomething@ttrpg.network 11 points 13 hours ago

Every one of them should have gone 24 hour after Booker, in a line, 24 hours at a time

[–] pageflight@lemmy.world 8 points 13 hours ago

Support Ranked Choice voting to get us some meaningful candidates!

[–] thedruid@lemmy.world 15 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

We don't have time , you morons

[–] turtlesareneat@discuss.online 6 points 16 hours ago

Shh, they still think they’re playing a touch football game.

[–] gAlienLifeform@lemmy.world 11 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

If it's not Medicare for All then they're not serious

[–] atzanteol@sh.itjust.works -4 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah, exactly. Don't vote against fascists until you get a perfect alternative.

[–] gAlienLifeform@lemmy.world 11 points 15 hours ago

I still think we should vote for them but unless they actually pursue policies that take away the ability of Republican state governments to oppress people were all just going to be some dumb sad assholes in November 2032 because President Buttigieg lost to Elon Musk after four years of getting jack shit done

[–] PugJesus@lemmy.world 59 points 23 hours ago (3 children)

Oh, is that what we're gambling on? The goldfish memory of the American electorate?

[–] iAmTheTot@sh.itjust.works 29 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

For the record, goldfish have perfectly normal memories. They can even remember tricks.

[–] Neverclear@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Illusions, Michael. Tricks are what a whore does for money.

[–] nonetheweiser@lemm.ee 1 points 1 hour ago

…or cocaine

Don't be so dismissive. Many still remember Obama quite well. It just happens to be the people that hated him the most

[–] BrianTheeBiscuiteer@lemmy.world 9 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

I don't think too many former recipients will forget that they used to have medical coverage.

[–] PugJesus@lemmy.world 16 points 23 hours ago

You have more faith in my countrymen than I do.

[–] Mobiuthuselah@lemm.ee 30 points 23 hours ago

So less than bare minimum? Bumbling fucks.

[–] ragebutt@lemmy.dbzer0.com 26 points 23 hours ago

“we need to get back to working on securing dinner dates with lobbyists for Israel and tech companies”

[–] NoneOfUrBusiness@fedia.io 21 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

These fuckers think elections will mean something by the Midterms. Which is not unexpected but still disappointing.

[–] PugJesus@lemmy.world 12 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago)

It's still possible that they will. The incompetence of the current regime even in executing their fascist dreams is... immense.

However, if midterms do mean something, it sure as shit won't be because of any competence displayed by the Dem leadership in this time of fucking crisis.

What interesting fucking times we live in.

[–] DogPeePoo@lemm.ee 15 points 22 hours ago

Fuck the Republicans especially; but also, fuck the feckless Democrats

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 8 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

These DINOS are completely dependant on what the GOP has the done the last administration in order to become electable. more like dinos are completely codependant on GOP, and vice versa. they are hoping to scrape by on some wins so they grift and receive "large gifts" from the same donors. thats why they dont push on heavy raising taxes, or UBI, or healthcare the DNC would lose all thier political capital that way and become unelectable, just enough to wet peoples apetite. while the gop just can use hate, and fearmongering to get elected.

[–] baronvonj@lemmy.world 3 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

That's what we said about Roe and the GOP but here we are. Let's not forget FDR was elected four times.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 1 points 14 minutes ago* (last edited 13 minutes ago)

i like to also add they want to grift from the same GOP donors, without making them look like the bad guys, eg the gop, because the gop has done such a bad job, they vote for D. people are starting to wake up to that. it was obvious how MITCH and the DNC were doing cat and mouse, its all orchestrated behind closed doors. the DNC cant afford to lose the GOP to elections, then they dont have an enemy, and they have to deal with more "bernies, AOCs" down the line.

[–] madjo@feddit.nl 8 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

And then they will fumble the ball like always. The U.S. needs a better political system, but I’m not holding my breath that that will happen, ever.

[–] Neverclear@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah, they're trying to stop that too...

H.R. 3040: Preventing Ranked Choice Corruption Act:

Mr. Hamadeh of Arizona (for himself and Mr. Begich) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on House Administration

A State may not carry out any election for Federal office using a system of ranked choice voting under which each voter ranks the candidates for the office in the order of the voter’s preference

They're all for States' Rights, until those rights are different from what MAGA wants.

[–] StrawberryPigtails@lemmy.sdf.org 9 points 23 hours ago

Is that all? Dumbasses.
