Comic Strips is a community for those who love comic stories.

Then his single mom starts spends an inordinate amount of time hanging out with the Pokémon professor...

If Red/Ash's mom married Professor Oak, would he call Blue/Gary (Oak's grandson) his stepson? Stepdad? And would Giovanni (Blue's father) be his stepfather? Stepson?

It would be extremely Star Wars/Everyone Important Is Related of them but I believe that it is a step sibling rivalry

Stole the plot of Earthbound I see.

If you actually go back to your home city there is literally nothing to do there.
You would have thought that at some point they would have added some special item or quest that you got if you actually went back but nope. In every game of Pokémon I have ever played there is no incentive to return to your home city and talk to your mother.
She is literally the first doctor you have available to your Pokémons and allows for early grind
You also get fast boots!

Pretty sure you can call her to leave some money with her to prevent going broke when getting wiped in battles. In some of the games at least.

The show, yes. The game is more like the comic.

Which is why the plot is bad ass. Its like being a viking without killing folks.

My favorite thing about the internet right here. Games not even out yet and it sucks ass/is the second coming of Christ. There is no in-between.
With how badly TPC has been handling the franchise the past few years, expecting the next games to be bad is pretty reasonable
You're probably right, however I reserve judgement on things untill I have actually experienced them. I fully expect it to be a disappointment somehow, but I don't know that it will be.
SETTING
I didn't say the game itself sucks but the SETTING does based on everything they have shown us (100% urban environments)
Before you talk about in-between maybe read everything in it's entirety first.

Well there's been that fairly lacklust trailer. It didn't exactly look inspiring. Of course it might have great gameplay but historically speaking that seems unlikely.
Also of course it's probably going to cost $100 which means I'm not going to buy it regardless.
