Now that I have been freed from the shackles of my mind, I am on quest to pursue the desires that have been hidden from me. I have been obsessed with getting this for my new feminine wardrobe. Not a weeb thing, just think it looks cooool. Where can I buy, or do I need to beg my sister to help make it (she's never sewn clothes).

My first dress ever was a pinafore dress. Would recommend, especially if it's an A-line that flares out.

That was cheap and from Amazon and I bought it years ago before the fastener broke, so I treated myself earlier this year and finally bought a nice new one from Son de Flor. It's really well made and beautiful and, hopefully, it'll outlive me.

I mean... it is a bit weeby, but that's no reason not to wear one. Have you tried searching for "adult size navy school dress" or something like that? Short of a cosplay store you probably won't find anything exactly the same, but there are plenty of similar items out there.

So the site I pulled the image from called it a pinafore dress. But most of the results I got were pinafore aprons or Western pinafore dresses missing the pleated skirt. A lot of the cosplayer stores I looked at focused on the much more popular sailor style.

Hmm yes, pinafore dress looks about right (I don't really know all the styles yet).

You might have luck checking out UK-based shops: it looks very similar to the kind of dress you'd see as school uniform there, which is probably where a lot of the anime designs ultimately come from.

A quick search on Rakuten turned up items like this one, which is a bit different but perhaps close to the style you're going for?

(Actually I kind of want one now...)

Wow, good find. They do have something that's really close. I'll save this one

Edit: Did more digging on the site and found the dress
