I use the share by email button all the time because it is 2 clicks easier than copying and pasting the url.
Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

yes. I see their utm's all the time
How about their pmq's or dgl's? I bet you don't ever see their btr's
what are those lol
I was saying in a joke way that no one outside of your field will know what you're talking about when you say "utm". And even a couple of web searches didn't explain it. Thanks for the link
I don't do ts either. I just often saw them in URL parameters and searched up UTMs a few years ago and found stuff lol
Hah you gotta be trolling me this time
naw
Sooo, what does ts mean? When speaking to a general audience it's best not to use industry specific initialisms if you want to be understood
You're way too mad about this
Look at all those methods I would never use to share anything from a website.
Might just be me, but if I wanted to share something with someone it's going to be an IM
It only takes one person to share to one site and have it reshared, up voted, liked, for it to take off
Theres a whole world of things like this I didn't know happened. My company recently done research on a website Chat Bot. I rubbished it off saying no one ever uses them, it turns out thousands click on them (including a lot of my managers)
My HR internal job posting site, which is run on Taleo, has these buttons so you can post the jobs on Google Buzz and Livejournal and Myspace.
If there was a lemmy one, I'd use it, otherwise, I just default to copying the link
Yes, they are shared a lot, on FB, x, via WhatsApp and so on
