Today is a feast day so to honour my culture , the past, the Seagoons and myself I am cooking a feast of luscious cheeses and crackers, good drinks, a salad, and chicken cooked with nutmeg , parsley and parmesan cheese in a tomato sauce served with egg fettucini. Peaches and apricots for desert.

I am just about to put my make up on. ๐Ÿ™‚

To honour my forbears, I am ordering a HSP from uber eats. And maybe some baclava if I'm feeling special.

Enjoy your celebrations!! That all sounds amazing!

I'm drinking a Japanese slipper, which is green, so kind of honouring my Irish roots.

Today is a feast to honour my culture, or lack thereof. The four bears will be regarded with great respect with cooking various meats on an open fire. The side dishes are not my problem haha .

Got to talk to my 2 best friends I haven't seen in 12 years on video chat.

It's a long story, but man I feel so fucking happy right now!

Goodnight all โค๏ธ

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 3 points 6 days ago

this is wonderful ๐Ÿฅฒ๐Ÿฅฒ๐Ÿฅฒ

[โ€“] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 3 points 6 days ago

Wholesome as!

Goodnight and build on that happiness tomorrow.

One thing I love about country's towns is how people still dress up for lunch. Young lasses in their new dresses, mum and dad all ironed, trailed by awkward boys in their collard shirt and best shorts. It's nice

[โ€“] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I miss living in the country.

Although...swings and roundabouts..there was also the casual racism overhead at the CWA shop ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ. I don't regret moving to the city but I have realised recently do need to get out from under it regularly. Mainly for the wildlife and nightsky.

Espresso Martini time, woooooo!! Home made, possibly a little too strong, bring it on!

[โ€“] Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

How's it going with the party house?

[โ€“] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 3 points 6 days ago

Suspiciously quiet!

today at the beach I found a little fish, two pieces of coral and an ear shell

[โ€“] TheWitchofThornbury@aussie.zone 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Is the inside of the abalone all shiny and nacreous? I love them when they're fresh enough to have all the lovely bluey-greeny-pinky nacre intact.

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 5 points 6 days ago

yup , that's one of the reasons I love ear shells

[โ€“] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 7 points 6 days ago

eee found the water leak.

Wasn't me but the neighbour saw it thank fuck it wasn't under the slab.

[โ€“] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 7 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

here are more abalone shells, I like the one with bright contrasting colours

the nacre doesn't photograph well at all

I have decided once the lease on the new place is signed I am going to celebrate by buying a new lawn edger, hedge trimmer and the fancy brushless motor for my whipper snipper. I aim to make the garden so neat people assume it's no longer a rental ๐Ÿ˜ It also means I'll be able to properly edge my 3m of nature strip here as a parting gift. Hopefully because the edger rests on the ground it won't kill my arms as much as the whipper snipper does. With a much bigger garden to look after (and a 2-strip of concrete driveway, so lots of edges) I anticipate building up lots of muscle. ๐Ÿ’ช

Full immersion baptism is a thing. Mostly for adults converting. Refer St John the Baptist. Rinse is the same only different. Refer vegetables and washing machines. Then there's the tricky question of the mikveh.

I've had to part ways with my legend of a barber-to-the-stars after his (very justified) price increases. I'm not on consultancy salary anymore.

Not every 'do at Just Cuts has been a winner, but each time I end up with something slightly different and it's kinda fun getting a different take on a bog-standard men's haircut. This month's is nicely textured and sits really well on my head straight out of the shower.

Also these eggs from Aldi are so good, what a Reese's peanut butter cup would taste like if it was made with good chocolate and peanut butter.

Has anyone here done adult swimming lessons?

I took lessons from about age 3 to 13, but that was a long time ago. Also, I was stuck on the same level for about three years, never really progressing, probably because of dyspraxia. The last time I went swimming in the ocean, I found it really difficult to keep myself afloat beyond just floating on my back, which is not conducive to activities like snorkelling.

Had 'his' first mate over. Vomit before 9. Yeah, cheers thanks a lot.

[โ€“] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Fucking lightweights.

But seriously, that's very poor form and childish.

Hope they're ashamed.

[โ€“] Duenan@aussie.zone 4 points 6 days ago

Charming, make them clean it up.

I thought to just download my OneDrive files onto my computer, back them up and unlink my pc so it couldnโ€™t fill that storage back up again. Well downloading my stuff isnโ€™t working. They download as zip files that only contain error and .txt.

Iโ€™m also now being told I canโ€™t send or receive emails because Iโ€™m over storage and have to pay for more - recurring subscription of course.

Itโ€™s so very convenient that they force your files onto their cloud (removing them from your computer) and then somehow the process of getting them back is obstructive. Really slimy.

I may end up having to pay to get to the task later but this is making me seriously reconsider Windows.

Microsoft prey on fear uncertainty and doubt. Also on compatibility between organisations. The only reason I donโ€™t walk for Linux is 1. I want to make sure I have everything first and 2. because Iโ€™m not confident of being able to reliably make everything work as I need it to.

Not sure what your arrangement is, but in windows with one drive, in explorer you can select the files and folders you want, right click, and select โ€˜always keep on this deviceโ€. This means you have a local copy in addition to the onedrive copy.

A very large glass of wine and another shittonne of whine. I do not like northerly winds.

On the good side, will be having a skype chat with both my boys tomozz, so that is something to look forward to.
