The season 1 (part 1?) finale (episode nine) is this evening. Looking at the season 1 so far I'd say it's been generally good, but not particularly amazing. The first episode was excellent, and episode eight was fantastic. The other episodes in between are worth watching, but they're just fine.

The series itself underwent a big scrap it all and let's restart/rewrite, and it's clear that season 1 is largely a result of the first version. (Also an actor who was likely going to play a bigger role passed away, so that also caused some story changes.) They've done a great job editing and adding to these episodes, but the first, eighth and I'm hoping ninth are excellent and have me looking forward to season 2.

Basically if you're thinking of watching but haven't yet, no rush for season 1, but definitely watch it before season 2.

(Also I know in the era of streaming you can't have a bad first season or you'll get cancelled. It isn't bad, but you can see the better second season getting ready to break out.)
