Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

I didn’t know much about Rubio prior. Now we know he’s a complete piece of shit that doesn’t believe in the Constitution.

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 67 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

Agreed.

Let's dispel with this fiction that Marco Rubio doesn't know what he's doing. He knows exactly what he's doing.

[–] meco03211@lemmy.world 22 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's like I've been saying

[–] kibiz0r@midwest.social 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I’d’ve been saying either “dispel this fiction” or “dispense with this fiction”, not “dispel with this fiction”. But then again, I don’t know what I’m doing.

[–] Venus_Ziegenfalle@feddit.org 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You don't see "I'd've" in the wild a lot

[–] kibiz0r@midwest.social 5 points 1 month ago

Whomst’d’ven’t used it in that circumstance though?

[–] Biscuit@ani.social 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I remember when the most fun they made of him was about drinking water during a speech.

[–] zephorah@lemm.ee 7 points 1 month ago

This is how someone with a background of being bullied behaves, with an intense need to overcompensate when “in” with his would-be bullies.

[–] GuyFawkes@midwest.social 70 points 1 month ago (2 children)

“These barbarians are now in the sole custody of El Salvador, a proud and sovereign Nation, and their future is up to President B and his Government. They will never threaten or menace our Citizens again!” the president added.

That asshole is just laying the groundwork for why he can “disappear” people and not bring them back. Maybe once they start disappearing white people the lazy American public will finally wake up. Of course by then it’ll be too late.

[–] Chainweasel@lemmy.world 41 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I don't think they'll even wake up then.
The Republicans won't care if it's white people, they'll just be glad they're getting rid of the "libs"

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 23 points 1 month ago

Yup.

Some reactionary asshole I know was saying that there are a lot of people incorrectly repeating that the "wrong people" are getting deported.

Despite the court records being absolutely clear that this is illegal (and we shouldn't be sending people to slave torture camps regardless of what they did).

[–] el_muerte@lemm.ee 6 points 1 month ago

Yeah. Plenty of Germans didn't "wake up" even when their Jewish friends and neighbours were being abducted and sent to concentration camps. 'Murrica is no different.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 26 points 1 month ago (1 children)

And the proof that these people are "barbarians" who "menace our citizens" is that the government kidnapped them and trafficked them into permanent imprisonment in El Salvador. That's the same amount of proof they'll produce when they do it to you. It could happen today, and there would be no chance to contact friends and family, or to argue your innocence. Because there has been no due process, and no proof or even accusation of any crime, we have to assume that all of these people sent to prison in El Salvador are innocent, just as you would be.

[–] zephorah@lemm.ee 18 points 1 month ago (1 children)

This is why we have, had, due process, to prevent errors.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 13 points 1 month ago

Errors and deliberate abuse.

[–] psvrh@lemmy.ca 66 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Voted 99-0 in the Senate.

Good job, Democrats. We know Republicans were pieces of shit, but the reason Democrats' polling is in the toilet is because of stuff like this.

[–] jacksilver@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

What vote are you referencing? Rubio's appointment?

[–] psvrh@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 month ago
[–] peoplebeproblems@midwest.social 54 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Sent to a Concentration Camp. Call it what it is you ball less bastards.

[–] xor@lemmy.dbzer0.com 9 points 1 month ago

thank you!
i’m so sick of people saying “deported” to this place too… it’s not deportation to send someone to a life/death sentence in a concentration camp, even if it’s in another country…

the nazis loved euphemisms too…

[–] MyTurtleSwimsUpsideDown@fedia.io 18 points 1 month ago (1 children)

What should I put on my bingo card for the “reasons” these folk were abducted

So far I’ve got:

  • “;” or other mental health awareness tattoo
  • song lyrics tattoo
  • literature quote tattoo
  • medical procedure tattoo
  • surgery scars
  • no criminal record is evidence of criminality
  • tattoo of family member(s) (name, image, or other representation)
  • tattoo from a video game, or comics
  • no tattoos
  • something something hamas
[–] NotMyOldRedditName@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Some sort of Chinese proverb.

[–] SereneSadie@lemmy.myserv.one 17 points 1 month ago (2 children)

One man with a gun, and nothing left to lose.

Watch your back, Rubio.

[–] glitch1985@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

He doesn't have the same SS protection as the president and VP have does he?

(yes the SS is intentional as opposed to USSS)

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 3 points 4 weeks ago

Shit, this perpetual foreigner had better watch out for his own party.

One minor slip up and his Hispanic ass will be deported by Trump's racist border czar.

[–] hddsx@lemmy.ca 16 points 1 month ago

Rubio sounds like a last name a gang member would have.

[–] medusadeluxe@lemm.ee 15 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It would be so poetic if once all is said and done all MAGA leaders got sent to El Salvador as punishment. Oh how blissful I would be to learn of that.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 9 points 1 month ago

Its funny because we see him again and again turn on his supporters. They do one thing out of line and he goes after them as much as his most ardent opponents. Moreso really.

[–] selkiesidhe@lemm.ee 15 points 1 month ago

The people who should be sent there are the ones sending people there...

Disgusting.

[–] SoftestSapphic@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

That adds another 10 floggings and lashes to the list of public punishments for the Fascists.

Nothing will meaningfully improve until the rich fear for their lives

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

Obviously the wrong ones, as he is still there to announce it.

[–] verdantbanana@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Feels like a beta test running the first few laps that will go on to expand on colors plus job descriptions and whatever other minute details that would further this agenda

[–] tikifire@lemm.ee 3 points 1 month ago

He will be sent eventually, too. He's brown, after all.
