Way ahead of them. I just buy stuff from other websites now without Amazon or AI involvement.

Same.

It's amazing how much money our family has saved the past couple of months alone, just by deciding we won't patronize Amazon and Target now (in addition to Walmart).

This. Use Amazon to find the brand, and go to their website to buy directly. The seller website is the same price on the surface, but you can almost always get a coupon that’s cheaper than Amazon. (Amazon FBA charges like 30%)

Damn! You should put the project on github. That sounds amazing! XD

Actually, this is a great idea in principle, because the inverse is possible.

We could use Amazon's resources for search, then use a browser plug-in to replace the buy button and have it buy the product from somewhere else using an AI agent.

I can’t even trust Alexa to buy stuff from Amazon. No way would I trust this to actually buy and pay for things for me

Since this service is free, I expect Az is taxing the retailers somehow. Perhaps it's something like the Honey scam.

I'll bet you can't pay with an Az giftcard or credit balance.

It's not a scam. The retailers don't care where the money comes from.

It's just a terrible terrible idea.

So... Even more "automatic" ways to funnel ever more money into Bezos' pockets...???

Hell, no.

Amazon and their Echo system can Fuck Right Off.

Hmm could be a nice way to get the 5% cash back I get on aws/amazon via my business amex on other sites, depending on how the transaction is processed...

And now Amazon will have more data points on you to sell to advertisers.

Also fuck Amazon.
