President Donald Trump's mass purge of federal workers from the civil service accidentally swept up safety inspectors on the front lines of containing a bird flu outbreak — and his administration is struggling to rehire them.

What's this accidentally stuff?

He's firing everybody indiscriminately and intentionally. That's not an accident.

Just because he regrets doing it doesn't mean he didn't do it on purpose the first time.

100%

I regretted setting my hand of fire with hand sanitizer.

I did it on purpose, fully knowing fire burns.

I just didn't think it would hurt so much before I could plunge my hand into the sink.

I did it intentionally, it wasn't an accident. I just wasn't prepared for the consequences at 11.

This administration has 0 excuse.

The firings are less evil and more stupid than you think. They're going after jobs in probationary status thinking those people are noobs and because of that status, they won't have grounds to fight it. Low hanging fruit, they think.

Problem is, you go probationary when you change roles. These morons have no idea who they're firing.

All this would be far more interesting and entertaining if any amount of "shredding" would result in any consequences.

But I've reached the point where both his base and the legal system have proven to me that nothing he does will be a bridge too far.

Laws, court orders, likely deaths of US citizens, likely deaths of non-US citizens, these are all things that hold no sway for the Trump admin because we the people, as a nation, have demonstrated that neither his popularity, his prosperity, nor his freedom will be impacted by anything he does, whatsoever.

So yay, he was shredded after doing a monumentally stupid thing that will probably kill some people. Again. And there will be no other ramifications.

Just another day ending in -y.

I just wish they’d actually shred him at this point.

"Mistakenly"

[–] Gork@lemm.ee 11 points 3 weeks ago

This is not at all surprising when they're firing workers in charge of nuclear weapons and nuclear safety.

No thought or consideration given. They are, as Vivek Ramaswamy puts it, taking a chainsaw to the federal civil service, to the detriment of all of us.

When it it the third or fourth "mistaken firing" it isn't really a mistake.

"Move fast, break things."

Won't he think of the eggs?????¿‽

[–] null_dot@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 3 weeks ago

Pretty sure that's exactly what they were thinking.

"We need this bird flu thing to go away so the egg prices come down"

Not a mistake. The billionaires want the useless eaters removed off the planet. Bird flu will genocide us for them.
