It's 2h22 in the morning, I'm 27 years old, and I just need to share my love for Meat Loaf.

I discovered Bat Out of Hell a month ago and my god that album is so awesome. I'm normally into rock, electronic/instrumental and indie music, but for some reason this theatrical over the top performer completely won me over. The music videos are so mesmerizing and from the heart, and the album just flows so well. I can really become one with it.

And Bat Out of Hell 2 just does it again. Such an amazing album, different from the first, but still so damn good and beautiful.

For me, Bad Attitude is his third best album (Bat Out of Hell 3 doesn't really work for me). I'm still slowly dipping my toes into the other albums (Dead Ringer is recommended a lot, but you can really hear the damage to his voice in that one and it really puts me of).

Also lots of love to Jim Steinmann for writing most of these incredible songs.

Hope you guys have artists that just took a hold of your soul like that, it's such an amazing feeling. Especially with other stuff in my life that is still tough, stuff like this is extra important. Love you all!

I'm right there with you, I grew up with the Greatest Hits album my dad had and always loved listening to it.

The title is pretty funny out of context though lmao

Bat Out Of Hell was the first vinyl LP I ever bought. I used to buy singles with my allowance (2 bucks a week) but the Bat Out Of Hell single wasn't even the whole song: I was having none of that bullshit. There were a couple of other really good songs from that album being played on the radio, so I did the math, saved up and bought it. Little did I know of the awesomeness that I would ingest the first time I sat to listen to the whole thing.

Over the top theatrical and dramatic music is a guilty pleasure of mine too. There is something so free and silly about it and it's so much fun to sing along to.

You might like a podcast about how hard it was for that album to be made. It's a Canadian podcast called "We Regret To Inform You". A nice inspirational podcast, but I feel like I need to know the subject beforehand to enjoy an episode.

Here's the link to the one about Bat Out of Hell.

I've always heard great things, and i loved him in fight club, and more importantly Tenacious D; Pick of Destiny. I am looking forward to looking up this album, because i would describe my music interests as similar as yours.
