Is there an ARPG that doesn't have some former D1 or D2 staff member on it? I'm sure the old janitors from Blizz North had to end up somewhere too.

The more the merrier. Last Epoch was also made by veterans of the genre from what I remember.

4.5 million seems like not a very high budget unless it's only meant to be seed money and release into early access like last epoch.

A Butcher that stalked you from the shadows like a kobold would be terrifying

Diablo had great lighting effects. In the catacombs you’d see a flash of movement in the dark, before being attacked by a goat demon who had used the darkness to get around behind you. The later instalments in the series made enemies much more visible, and lost something for it.

We're going back to what made those early Diablo games feel so awesome but taking them in some cool, fresh directions
