cheating, rape, and violence ARE conservative family values, as long as it's the men doing any of those things

[–] bradd@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

women doing the same would be progressive.

[–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Don’t forget incest. There’s a reason the south has billboards saying “she’s your daughter, not your date”. If the problem is so bad that people are paying to run anti-incest campaigns, there’s a real issue with the people living there.

I have never taken any moral criticism from the right seriously. They are corrupt immoral hypocritical assholes.

That said, I will call out any democrat doing unethical shit because I don't give a shit about party or celebrities. If you are a piece of shit, I don't care about the letter next to your name.

And if you have an R next to your name, I give zero shits about any of your opinions you morally bankrupt piece of crap.

Fucking Don Bacon.

Air force general and the small handful of times I met him he was a stand up guy. Tipped well, his staff seemed to like him, the guys I work with that worked with him all seemed to like him. Genuinely no complaints about this guy before he ran for office.

Then he ran for office and like, immediately, started taking money from telecoms to kill net neutrality. And it cost shockingly little to buy his vote. He went on a tour of his district to talk about it, in the middle of the week, during work hours, exclusively in the rural areas of his district.

My friends, his district is the largest and third largest city in Nebraska, and a few outlying neighborhoods to gerrymander it. You have to really try to avoid the city when you do shit like that.

He slips a little further every year, he wasn't sucking the party dick that hard his first term, but he can't take it out of his mouth at this point.

I can so I should, and if I did then it was right.

The Nationalist Christian logic .... if I did bad things and God didn't punish me, then I was allowed by God to do these things and get away with it.

These are the reasons why I don't like Nationalist Christians and I don't believe in God ... any God that would allow this stupidity is in a universe I don't want to take part in. I would rather burn in hell rather than join some fanciful heaven filled with psychopaths, sociopaths and narcissists.

Also I always liked the short form of calling them "Nat-Cs" ... Nationalist Christians

John Edwards' career-ending scandal is seeming pretty damn quaint these days

[–] zib@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Honestly, what even is a political scandal anymore? The goal post has been moved so far, I'm not sure it's even still in the same zip code.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

It's when your party abandons you over it. Only democrats have them anymore, with the sole exception being when a republican goes against trump

[–] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Howard Dean would have been president, but he cheered weird that one time, so didn't get the nomination.

[–] itsonlygeorge@reddthat.com 3 points 1 week ago

Spoiler: it’s not

I wonder how Elon’s “Kung Fu lessons” with Ghislaine Maxwell panned out.

I wonder if he “sparred” against 12 year old girls.

[–] NABDad@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Even cheated on their kids!

[–] Grass@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I don't know what you mean by this and I may be better off not knowing

[–] dance_ninja@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The wording is a bit vague and it could be interpreted as cheating on the wives and the kids.

[–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 week ago

In Trumps case, we know from him saying it repeatedly that he wants to fuck his own daughter. I wouldn’t bet money that he hasn’t already.

[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Musk actually got two of the three mothers of his children to pretend it was all good and a big misunderstanding on their part.

His ex-wife still thinks he's an asshole though.

[–] Zetta@mander.xyz 1 points 6 days ago

Is it a fact musk cheated on his wives or just hearsay? I just figured they all left after discovering who he truly is inside

[–] 1985MustangCobra@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 week ago

you dont have a trump bible? /s

[–] Bob_Robertson_IX@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

I feel like the whole 'Family Values' thing hasn't been a talking point from the republicans in a long time. Have any of these 3 actually lectured about family values?

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Well there’s no need, now.

[–] HubertManne@moist.catsweat.com 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I like these things but would prefer them as a text post to politcal community or such so its searchable and because I tend to block meme communities. Basically im saying this is way to good to be a meme.

[–] 14th_cylon@lemm.ee 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I tend to block meme communities

Which is why you are discussing here in the political meme community, right? Well, thanks for letting us know :D

I tend to filter my all over time so it happens when it happens and new ones come up all the time with the fediverse. I block sports to its just I block and subscribe based on relative interest.

[–] Randelung@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

The conspiracy of prime numbers.

[–] innermeerkat@jlai.lu 2 points 1 week ago

Do what I say, not what I do

[–] PlainSimpleGarak@lemmings.world 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What is the criteria for "credibly accused"? Accused is easy enough. One simply must make an accusation against you. But what criteria is used to elevate that credible?

[–] limer@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

witnesses, accusations, court trials, investigations by law, settlements and outright admission.

Some of them have more of one type than the other but most of the people mentioned in this political context are not unlucky people who only have one or two incidents.

That does not mean the other people are saints. But most seem to at least not glorify in it, and many are content to exploit and rob the working class without such public incidents.

Not that I care about or even like these guys, but just playing devils advocate (mostly because very few people here do) but witnesses, accusations, court trials, and investigations by law is just due process. Also, with an outright admission, we've gone past the point of a mere accusation (credible or otherwise). I suppose a settlement is the only one I would attach to credible. Most people aren't going to pay up unless they're guilty.

[–] bluewing@lemm.ee 1 points 1 week ago

Well, at least it's one thing they are actual experts in..........
