Look at these wrinkled old scrotums. Each directly responsible for the downfall of America. Each palsied, spotted claw dipped in the misery of our better citizens.

If leadership is synonymous with accountability, then let the full weight of America's mighty stumbles rest on their backs. Let them stagger and carry it for the rest of history.

I like how you write

Biden is the new von Hindenburg now? Doesn't Biden have still unlimited political power thanks to Supreme Court?

[–] masterofn001@lemmy.ca 7 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

Remember the letter trump left when biden won?

The one that has never been made public.

Biden's only comment in it was that it was 'generous'

I've wondered if that letter told biden he would be spared if he cooperated

Elections have consequences. Americans knew what they voted for. They fucked around and they are going to find out.

[–] whyNotSquirrel@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

Well, the rest of the world will find out also

[–] lychee@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 hour ago

Europeans seem like they constantly need reminding of this. You people are also fucked for a myriad of reasons

As much as I hate this its correct.

With lying, external influence, racism, terrorism and general crime he was just democratically elected. Supporting democracy means that it has to be followed.

It's wrong, its a bad move, but its democracy.

No, the US constitution literally has a protection for this exact scenario: the electoral college. The founding fathers knew that the general population was stupid and could fall victim to a tyrant, so the EC was supposed to vote against the popular vote if that happened. They couldn't have forseen the internet, though.

Our government has a responsibility to protect the country and the constitution from those who seek to destroy it, and Trump and gang seek to destroy it. They all should face a military tribunal for sedition and treason, and be hung for it.

If you stay in and Trump is elected and everything you're warning about comes to pass, how will you feel in January?" Stephanopoulos asked Biden.

"I'll feel, as long as I gave it my all, and I did as good a job as I know I can do, that's what this is about," the president responded.

People give Republicans shit for not knowing about things trump said he would do...

Yet moderates continue to not know how Biden said he would things...

He was never built to fight fascism, we wasted four years of what could be (but probably isn't) our last chance.

And people still want to claim we need to move further right in 2028?

I'm struggling so much to understand what kind of logic those people are using. Even when it "works" it doesn't actually work, it's a brief reprieve at best.

[–] Enkers@sh.itjust.works 32 points 8 hours ago

The "logic" is just billionaire talking points, because that's who holds the media's purse strings. They'll do anything to keep actual progressives out of power.

[–] Fiivemacs@lemmy.ca 7 points 8 hours ago

There IS no logic. You can't expect logic from things that have been deprogrammed and are currently being reprogrammed, at least not good logic. Bad actors that have control over global information in realtime have taken over. They control the minds now.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world -1 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago)

I mean look around you. For years' we've been shoulder to shoulder with apologists who claim to be on the supposed "left" but keep making excuses to defending the indefensible.

You can't have bipartisan ship with fascism: thats just more fascism.

You can't expect people to support the lessor two evils: its just more evil.

Policies that only ever do half of the job of fixing the problem never results in the problems being solved.

What we're experiencing is the true cost of the half-a-loaf politics of the liberal, NPR, Pod-Save-America, Democrat. Obama-era nothing burger chickens come home to roost.

costing us the election and then rolling out the red, black and white carpet

[–] Kecessa@sh.itjust.works 6 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

You guys should have voted against that if that's not what you wanted.

[–] BassTurd@lemmy.world 14 points 4 hours ago

Some of us did, a lot actually. Unfortunately, the stupid outweigh the rest.

[–] dual_sport_dork@lemmy.world 18 points 8 hours ago

I would have left a thumbtack on every chair, and a bucket of whitewash balanced over every door.
