The Bible says Adam and Eve, not Adam in Southend-on-Sea.

[–] BluesF@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago

But they did live in Eden, we've got a bunch of those.

[–] Aurenkin@sh.itjust.works 81 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I have no issue with people being British either but I just don't agree with the lifestyle.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 21 points 5 days ago

Love the sinner, not the sin.

[–] assassinatedbyCIA@lemmy.world 57 points 5 days ago (2 children)

I just don’t like the British lifestyle being forced down my throat. They even have an anthem and such. Why can’t they just be quietly British. I don’t rub my non-Britishness on them.

[–] lengau@midwest.social 1 points 1 day ago

I don’t rub my non-Britishness on them.

Americans cannot relate to this.

[–] Aksamit@slrpnk.net 20 points 5 days ago (6 children)

They even have an anthem

You referring to Mr Brightside? Or do we have a new one yet?

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 3 points 5 days ago

My country, ‘tis of thee; sweet land of liberty, of thee I see.

Damn I miss the age of parody lyrics being the highest form of insult. We should go back to that. (Yes, fellow Americans, that song that literally all of us know is just a trolling parody of “god save the queen” and most people don’t know that which makes it even more funny.)

Being Br*tish is an abomination, why can't they just be normal?

[–] Biskii@lemmy.dbzer0.com 22 points 5 days ago

You can swear on the internet. On second thought, maybe that one is best left censored

[–] uhhhhh@lemmy.world 26 points 5 days ago (2 children)

🎵 He'll save children, but not the British children 🎵

Live your life but please don't do that in public for my kids to see

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 8 points 5 days ago

My spouse's parent was British but fortunately didn't raise them that way.

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 13 points 5 days ago

Goddamn Peppa Pig is indoctrinating our youth!

[–] iAmTheTot@sh.itjust.works 14 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Nobody show this guy Taskmaster Junior.

[–] Biskii@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 5 days ago

I'm so stoked to watch this. I loved Rose and Mike, and I'm so excited to have them back. They seem like perfect picks for their roles. Kids should make it extra goofy. I haven't been able to watch any TM for some months, so I'm going to have a lot to catch up on

[–] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 13 points 5 days ago

Do they really have to expose us to their lifestyle like that? How will I explain this to my kids

[–] el_abuelo@programming.dev 9 points 5 days ago (1 children)

I can understand someone not wanting their kids to see the Scottish. But the English and the Welsh? Those people live SOUTH of the wall.

[–] Owljfien@lemm.ee 5 points 5 days ago

The one made of corn? Doesn't sound very structurally sound

As a Brit all these comments are hilarious.
