The current rules are just a complete and utter disaster. Instead of leaving a car's width, it's the car ahead at the apex that gets the corner.

The main problem is that there is no clear idea where exactly the apex is, and which line to draw from that apex. And then you get different rulings for similar actions. See for example Piastri, who got 5 seconds for forcing Gasly off track.

I hate the whole situation. The only way to overtake Verstappen is to not be near him, because he understands the rules best and uses them to his advantage. It's been like this for years and it's toxic for good racing.

It's an absolute warzone on most social media lol

But there are so few people looking at things without utter bias. Like McLaren had the illegal rear wing and fans were lecturing everyone that's how F1 works, by using "hacks". Now Max applied the apex "hack" and these same fans are screaming murder. It's ridiculous.

Still no mention of what McLaren thought was new evidence even though it was rejected. What the hell.

The 'new evidence' was the stewards' decision itself, saying that it incorrectly stated that Max was the defending driver. They wanted argue that Lando was ahead at the breaking zone, so technically he became the one defending into the corner and by Max running wide he was at fault.

I think the main purpose of this was to highlight how silly the first to the apex rule is, since it essentially allows you miss the corner without consequence.
