Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Its called the fucking Melting Pot you uncultured fuck. We meld together into one clusterfuck of culture and sharing. It is not One but Many. This is our strength, it is not a weakness.

He always forgets about his multiple immigrant wives and his anchor babies.

It's clear he doesn't give a shit about his history or where he came from. But the racism has been there since the beginning.

Fred Trump made his money building low to medium income housing in NYC. That's where Donald learned real estate. Fred, Donald, and the Trump Org were sued for housing discrimination against anyone with a hint of color looking for an apartment. They ended up settling without admitting anything, and he loves to mention that as of it absolves their actions.

Imagine a world where a candidate comparing the US to a garbage can still has a shot.

Imagine a world where trump’s mother had an abortion.

It was a garbage can on fire while Donnie was in charge. Let’s not go back to that, okay?

I mean, we shouldn't have to fact check this, just naturally assume he's lying, but I AM curious how badly he's lying:

“You got millions of people pouring in,”

Total border encounters by individual citizenship, FY 2021–FYTD 2024

Mexico 2.8M
Guatemala 923.9K
Honduras 874.9K
Venezuela 837.7K
Other 711.3K
Cuba 645.1K
Haiti 457.3K
Nicaragua 436.4K
Colombia 424.8K
Ecuador 352.3K
El Salvador 308.1K
Ukraine 263.4K
India 258.9K
Philippines 190.7K
Brazil 174.8K
Peru 173.3K
China 166K
Canada 146.5K
Russia 124.9K
Turkey 54.2K
Romania 18.4K
Myanmar (Burma) 16.4K

So, yeah, I guess that is "millions", but this is just border encounters, not necessarily illegal crossings.

So when my daughter in laws family flew in from Burma for the wedding... That would be 3 border emcounters. 6 if it counts both ways!

What kind of MF watches the Harry Potter movies and thinks “you know, that Voldemort guy, he had a point.”

He still might drop dead before the election.

Proven by the fact that we ever allowed this piece of trash to become president.

[–] saltesc@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

Oh, please. I wouldn't do that to my trash.
