who are the freaks that are still against legalization?? after my state legalized it was only a matter of months before even the anti drug boomers I know to be buying gummies for their arthritis

My in laws used to get so mad at my wife for smoking pot. Recently they weren’t even a little mad to hear that I’d used it on a road trip as a replacement for Dramamine. They also have chilled the fuck out about other drugs since I described how lsd has improved my mental health.

Pot is just awesome. Best analgesic and antiemetic I can get otc, most fun one too

Old conservatives mostly. Still favored by a majority of both parties.

Pfft, for real, all my elderly relatives have some sort of cannabis rubbing cream or an extract for sleeping.

for a weed sub this comment section is wild

[–] johannesvanderwhales@lemmy.world 18 points 1 month ago

I think a lot of lemmings just read /c/all since most subs don't have a ton of content.

Sigh... leave it to Lemmy to turn a discussion about cannabis into complaining about Gaza again like in almost every other thread. Everyone knows about the genocide and how awful it is, but none of us can do anything about it right now and it's not relevant to the topic at hand. Can we please have a discussion about other things without it just devolving into fighting over it?

Anyway, as a Canadian, our country hasn't fallen into mass chaos and drug abuse despite cannabis being legalized. I'm sure the federal government loves the extra tax dollars, and we don't need to buy from shady black market dealers so it's usually safer. I hope America can learn from what we're doing up north, cannabis shouldn't be illegal.

pssst...it's mostly Russians trying to manufacture an October surprise for Trump.

its weird how one day all the threads were about "Biden bad, Harris bad by-proxy, vote for anyone but Harris."

Were you accidentally browsing lemmy.ml?

If this were last year I totally would've used you as an example/reference in my ENC1101 essay about weed legalization 🥲 that's exactly the same points I wrote about

[–] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Not a druggie, but I say legalize the doobage on a national level.

[–] windlas@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 month ago

Its been legal for a while in Canada now and the sky has not fallen.

Chip sales are way up. Maybe this is just Big Snackfood playing us for fools?

[–] Dasus@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Smoking weed makes you a druggie as much as drinking coffee black makes you a crackhead.

Both of which will have to be legalised, btw.

If this isn't enough to get people to vote I don't know what is.

[–] BruceTwarzen@lemm.ee 2 points 1 month ago

It got people to vote for biden. And he's still hard at work to do it. Maybe in another election cycle or two.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

a drug bust isn't always about the money, sometimes it's about the innocent civilians the police murder along the way.

this is true, but civil forfieture has been a large part of keeping law enforcement equipped
