Got woken up by the wind blowing a gale and remembered the cats' fuzzy bed was still on the line, so dashed out to retrieve it.
Just as well as the side door to the garage had blown open.
Back to bed, hopefully to sleep...

It's bin day for us. I'm guessing lots of the bins in our street must be tired, when I left this morning many were laying down having a nice nap :|
Our garbo will deserve a bonus by the time he's finished today!
I think my bin got a bit hyperactive with all the wind. I put the green waste bin out with only a bag of food scraps in it, this morning it was completely full of weeds. Obviously it was feeling a bit under-utilised and went out to do some weeding.
How's our no snacks after tea (nsat) gang going? Getting a better sleep? The fucking wind not helping. Give it some time and you should be sleeping better.
I'm supposed to bring a plate to work tomorrow and I am completely lacking in both inspiration and enthusiasm.
It's 2003 and you can only have 3 cds in your car. What are they?
Supertramp - The Very Best of
Talking Heads - Once in A Lifetime The Best of
Pink Floyd - Dark Side Of Thr Moon
Bad news about the doors confirmed. They can't temporarily install my old door handle or lock onto this new door because it doesn't meet modern fire safety requirements. Apparently the new locks will be the same locks we had in Resi - a simple latch that can be very easily opened, and they're going to place a metal plate over it to prevent people slipping cards or things to open the lock from the outside
I guess that's a solution, but it feels like yet another step towards making the house feel exactly like the place I was at before. I guess on the bright side, I'm only 6 months away from turning 18. Once I do that, I can GTFO if I want, although practically I'm almost forced to stay for another 6-12 months until I can move elsewhere.
I suspect once the opportunity to book hotel rooms opens up, I'll take a lot more spontaneous Mildura or Adelaide trips
I just serenaded the song Nothing's gonna change my love for you to the whole family but changed the word you to youse. Such fun.
I've finally made it to a local show and I'm surprised how few people are here. I must still be tapped into the Australian metal scene that I can go to a sore that's a big deal to me and it's still half empty by the end of the second last band
The door man got back in at 8 to start sawing some wood and started ripping out the rest of the doors at 9.
We also have sparkles here now, because apparently our house has light switches on some door frames, which means old mate can't just take a crowbar to it like he did the others, so they called sparkies to come relocate them.
Sometimes I look at the decisions these guys make and wonder why their pockets are so deep, yet they insisted on pinching every single penny when that kid moved in which blew all of this up in the first place. Certainly an expensive mistake. Expect a moderate increase in your taxes next year π
My favourite The Beach Boys song
Also REO Speedwagon power song
