They're only making it quiet; the part that is going to place tens of thousands of people invested in the project into government if Trump is elected is still happening:

Another arm of the project, a personnel database of more than 20,000 applicants for potential political appointments should Trump be reelected, will remain in operation, people familiar with the matter said.

Project 2025 only goes away when Republicans stop steamrolling local elections for powerful positions. You can't just vote in the presidential election.

Is that the one Meta just hired?

[–] mephiska@kbin.run 17 points 1 month ago (1 children)

No, the one Meta hired just wrote the cybersecurity sections.

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago

wrote the cybersecurity sections.

Oh what?? What kind of crap did they write for cybersecurity??

[–] CaptainSpaceman@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago

But but trump didnt know anything about P2025, why would he influence them????

[–] t3h_fool@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

In no place does Trump ever specify which ideas he disagrees with. He just doesn't want to be associated with it. He is not really disavowing the ideas, AFAICT. It kind of makes me mad that it is being reported that he is distancing himself from P2025. Because... not really.

Good riddance.

Yet project 2025 still exists.

Hmmm.
