A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. A showerthought should offer a unique perspective on an ordinary part of life.

look you guys gotta understand that women's orgasm is a bit different. We can have amazing sex and not orgasm and it's ok. A woman can orgasm without even touching herself, that's how "in the head" we are. Its good either way. If you really want to make her cum try oral.

I've had a penis since birth and I can still have amazing sex without orgasming. For me it's more a matter of habit. When I started having sex, I wanted to orgasm every time. As I got more experienced, I started enjoying all the other stuff in sex more, and I regularly have sex with my partner without orgasming - most of my orgasms now come from masturbation.

I've had a penis since birth

Then why fake it?!?!? Just tell him you're done.

[–] bhamlin@lemmy.world 9 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Because men sometimes take it personally when they "can't make you cum." Occasionally they get mad and blame you. It's safer to just hide it and figure it out later if necessary.

That sounds like both people are wrong. If one person defaults to anger and the other defaults to lying that sounds like a really unhealthy relationship.

[–] bhamlin@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

You're not wrong, but actual relationship dynamics aren't always so clear cut. I was merely commenting as to why and unwilling to make a judgement about the situation. You don't always know what someone else is going through.

I tried faking an orgasm once. It didn't work. I'm a guy, and she instantly called my bluff.

You forgot to flex your kegals. Then claim dehydration.

Actually I think it was the poor acting, and the fact that I still had an erection.

Pro tip for guys (by a guy): Always make sure she has at least one orgasm before you blow your load. Commit to oral and you’ll go a long way.

[–] Dkarma@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago

With good enough head game you can rule the world.

If someone spends the time to fake an orgasm to make me feel good then they are pretty cool.

[–] LNRDrone@sopuli.xyz 48 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Sure, sounds good in the short term. Probably better in the long term to be honest and figure out something that lets everyone to have an orgasm though.

[–] intensely_human@lemm.ee 9 points 4 months ago (1 children)

And lets people give orgasms. Someone who fakes an orgasm robs their partner of the opportunity to give orgasms.

[–] Dkarma@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Honey if she's faking it he's not ever gonna be able to give it.

[–] intensely_human@lemm.ee 1 points 4 months ago

Exactly! He needs to find himself a more compatible partner, but she’s lying and preventing him from learning this.

[–] pearsaltchocolatebar@discuss.online 31 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Eh, it's better to communicate with your partner and give them a chance to get you there by other means.

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 15 points 4 months ago (1 children)

This assumes that the person faking it expects continued interaction and/or safety. Women often fake it with flings when they simply want things to finish and don’t want to have an awkward conversation with the person they never intend to see again. They also fake it to avoid confrontation due to perceived emasculation.

Now, if you feel safe in your non-transient relationship, this is literally the best advice in the world.

[–] intensely_human@lemm.ee 0 points 4 months ago (2 children)

My god why would you have sex with a person you never intend on speaking to again?

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 6 points 4 months ago

Cuz sex is fun. I’m not gonna slut shame.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

So they can fake an orgasm obviously.

[–] ASeriesOfPoorChoices@lemmy.world -5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

spoken like an incel who doesn't understand trust.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Which one is the incel?

Me or the one I’m having sex with?

[–] Plopp@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

Both, thrusting your pelvis towards another avatar in VR Chat doesn't count as sex!
