Discuss the announced job changes, especially Monk will get bigger rework, Astrologian's cards won't be random anymore and so on. I personally like it, because Monk felt like an overly convoluted class with these overarching debuffs. And otherwise it is QoL improvements, even if the naysayers will as always denounce it as a carebear design.

I can move my leylines.

I've never been so happy.

I think DPS classes should be complicated. It's not like they're doing anything else. DRG is one of my mains, and I'm not super excited for it to be even simpler.

WAR on the other hand, is perfect. Just more Fell Cleave. No notes.

Is DRG getting really dumbed down though? Losing one positional is meaningless and if another 2 skills disappear to be "replaced" with additional ones it doesn't really matter.

DRG is already really simple. I'm not a huge fan of positionals as a mechanic. I think they're pretty boring, and they often get annoying with how XIV fights have been designed for the past couple expansions, but I think they should be replaced with something more engaging, not just straight up removed. Hopefully the replacement skills are fun

I dislike positionals, because there is never any feedback when you do hit them and with some bosses it just isn't possible without True North cancellation. There should be some minor animation or sound playing on success.

I'm looking forward to check out the monk changes, but overall the changes to all classes sound good. Well aside from smn with that odd looking bahamut.

I wonder how the flow of Monk will feel. I was excited about the EW changes, but when I actually played it something felt off, it felt like they'd slowed it down. I was planning on switching to Viper as they now appear to be the speedy job

Overall I'm pretty pumped for the changes, as far as I currently understand them! I main DRK and I think I like the concept of combining Blood Weapon and Delirium, which seemed like the biggest change for the job. I also generally like the idea of combining actions and follow-ups into one button - as a controller user it's more comfy, but also it makes room for more skills (especially weavables) in future expansions.

In terms of non-main jobs:

  • glad they didn't do anything crazy to RDM or reaper - both already feel great to play
  • excited about this WHM mobility skill!
  • as someone who has only dipped their toes into monk, I'm optimistic about the updates! I think being able to check a gauge will be easier on my brain than the current setup. Mostly I hope veterans won't hate it now, but if it gets me to play the job then I'll be happy (love my monk glam, haha)

WHM really needs that mobility for dungeons with the way their AOE works. I also hope Monk doesn't lose depth, but only less convolutedness. I enjoyed the class in the earlier level ranges a whole lot and then I hated it.

I'm happy. I'm happy with my mains currently, so I'm optimistic about the changes. Also if what I've seen about Viper being a mix of GNB and RPR, it's going to be a lot of fun to use.

I really like that BRD songs can be played without a target in sight.
