Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!
Rules:
- Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.
Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.
Example:
- Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
- Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
- No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.
That's all the rules!

Really? Here's my post history: https://lemmy.world/u/UniversalMonk?page=1&sort=New&view=Posts
So, tell me, how much time do you think I’m actually spending "pumping out" Jill Stein articles (which I don't even write)? There's my post history for all to see. What percentage of my posts are about her or the Green Party?
Go ahead, enlighten us.
If news articles bother you so much, and you’d rather see less coverage that challenges your views, please feel free to contact the news orgs and tell them why you believe in more censorship and fewer choices.
How terrible would my life have to be for me to tally up your post percentages? All I know is that when I see Jill Stein show on my feed, it's you posting it.
Also I've told you twice now to post anything you want. Why do you keep trying to make it seem like I want censorship? Is that a tactic from stawmanning 101 at the troll farm academy?
Well, maybe don’t throw around accusations that I spend all my time posting about Jill Stein if you’re not actually willing to check the facts about it.
That doesn't really mean I spend all my time posting about her or "pumping" out stuff about her, now does it?
I also post a lot of libertarian articles to this community. I also post a lot of Claudia De la Cruz (socialist party) articles to this community. In fact, all of my posts to this community are about third parties.
Are you mad about the number of pro-Harris articles that are posted here daily?! Because there are way more of those than ones of Jill Stein.
Were you under the impression that this political news community was ONLY for pro-Harris news articles?! It's not. It's actually for political news discussion.
Calm down, man. I'm not even voting for Jill Stein. I post news about third parties because I'm interested in third-party political news. She's third party. That's it. No vast conspiracy.
If you are so tired of seeing me posting stuff, feel free to block me. I totally respect and support your right to do that.
You'd like that wouldn't you. No, I'll reserve my right to continue to comment on your nonsense. It ain't much, but it's honest work.
I'll bet you're not voting for her because you're not a US citizen. That's my best guess.
It's just bullying.
Hot take 🔥
That's totally your right too. But maybe cry less about seeing my posts if you are the one that refuses to set up a way to avoid seeing them.
Why on earth would you think that? I'm totally voting in the election, as I have every election since 1988. And I have said who I am voting for in several posts.
Where do you think I'm from? lmao
Accusing me of being a troll or not a US citizen is against the community rules, so please stay civil. Thank you!
No one believes you
I haven't cried at all, I don't believe. Just calling out bullshit where I see it and will continue to. See you around.
Maybe you should stick to actual bullshit instead of seeing me as the boogeyman, then. I'm just posting the news, I don't make the news.
And you forgot to tell me where you think I live, since you're so convinced I'm not a citizen.
Never said I was convinced. Believe I said "guess." Still, there is no evidence currently that you aren't the bogeyman either. You sure walk and talk like a bogeyman.
Even after I told you that you were incorrect. Sounds pretty convinced.
And no evidence that you aren't working for the republican party and that you're just trying to sow doubt and confusion so that people are just confused and don't vote at all.
In fact...guess what my "guess" about you is...
Because you sure walk and talk like someone trying to confuse everyone and sow doubt so that duopoly can stay in charge. You seem awfully interested in questioning people who don't agree with you. Reminds me of someone...someone orange...
Your account is thirty eight days old and you have made two thousand nine hundred and fifty submissions to Lemmy.
That’s roughly one every eighteen and a half minutes so the ‘accusation’ is pretty fucking accurate.
How many posts has microwave made?
12.1k in 465 days, so once every 55 minutes.
If UM continues his pace he'll be at approximately 35.2k submissions at 465 days.
Thanks. In one of his posts, he shared why he's so passionate. It wasn't a fantastical tale, either, just everyday American life. He is human with real human, American concerns. I support him.
That's nice.
They are rude, abrasive and are almost universally downvoted with the stuff they flood this site with on average every nineteen minutes for forty-two days so you can guess my view on these people.
That's objectively untrue. They have been extremely polite and non-abrasive, unlike most people who reply. They aren't breaking any rules, either. There was another guy who posted as much news and politics as microwave but I used the "block" feature. Not because they were objectionable, but between the two, I never saw anyone else's post.
Thanks for your opinion, but that's all it is.
Your opinion, not the objective truths you say.
Here is some of their comments and I'm not sure how you're argue that they aren't universally downvoted on their spam.
I didn't address dv's. And it's not spam, since a lot of voters care about third parties. I said they aren't rude, abrasive or breaking any rules.
Did you read the comments I linked?
Why would I? That was then, this is since then.
No problem, if you don't want to educate yourself it's tough to have an informed opinion.
Have a nice day!
Or you can simply give people grace and allow them to grow and evolve. Thanks, you a beautiful day, as well.
One of those comments was seven days ago, you’d know if you spent the time reading it.
