But efficiency was the only achievement, and you never truly achieved it.

(but of course I am happy to have them, and I think I have to 100% it)

We all know that the only real achievement is reaching coal power so we don't have to fuss with biomass ever again.

.. Also... bladerunners

Biomass burners have inputs now! No clue when that happened.

1.0, that was a large thing for it. Useful! However, I personally won't spend a lot of time wiring them up...

Same. If they ever add a way to farm plants, I would consider having a few permanent biomass burners just for funsies.

They're not complicated, I just have a couple containers that feed through two layers of constructor to make solid biofuel that sits ready for 8 burners in case my production ever starts dipping over the line... 240 MW isn't much but it only starts burning if needed and gives me time to ramp up coal or shut something down before everything goes offline

I don't know if it'll be useful at all once I get my first fuel generators running (just unlocked it this playthrough), but they've kicked on a couple of times even into mid tier 5...

Basically, they're extra "batteries" that "charge up" every time I chop down trees to make room for factories

That's not a bad idea. I might have to steal it.

I usually cream a dump in the hub which goes out to a natural processing plant, with things like slug processing, biofuel, etc

Personally I'd say it's having the realization that your entire build is either wrong because of your math or because it won't scale, having the mental breakdown, and pushing through and rebuilding everything

Gotta do it at least one time on the default recipe, trying to balance Sulfuric Acid juuuuust perfectly. Then the next build you learn about the alternative and you never go back.

[–] Jumuta@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

oh bruh there's an alternative??

AND it consumes less uranium?

so my setup isn't actually 100% nuclear :(

There's always the next factory, THAT one will be 100% efficient!

Biomass isn't that bad now that it has conveyors. It's still annoying but not painful.

Leaves & wood -> biomass -> solid fuel -> generators. All automated. I put the leaves in the top bin, the wood in the bottom (like a tree!) and the constructors do the rest.
