Like any infestation, they return if one is not vigilant. Like mold.
They also return if you never deal with the underlying infestation, and only smush them when they show their face.
They will in fact return even faster if you import half the brain trust of the last ones after the war and let them die peacefully of old age in Boca Raton. Sherman didn’t burn far enough and we were entirely too nice to the remainders of the third reich, before they’re all dead we’ll see the fourth.
