If anyone believed in the imperial presidency it was Hamilton
Details?
Remember that part of the play where it goes
During that 6 hour spiel at the Constitutional Convention, he described the president as an executive similar to a king that was elected for life. Hamilton was radically progressive for his time, but he still had a soft spot for a highly powerful executive.
Further cementing that the only founding father anyone should respect in 2024 is Thomas motherfucking Paine
Nah, Jefferson was the one who was looking west super hungrylike.
He just said a lot of pretty words about presidential light touch because it would make it less likely a president would interfere with him being a slave oligarch on top of being an imperialist.
Adams
John Adams? That can't be, that's that little guy, that spoke to me, all those years ago, what was it? 85? That poor man they're going to eat him alive!
