Lesser-evil voting has led you to support an imagined "kinder, gentler genocide". Seems a bad strategy.

[–] barsquid@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Whatever helps you convince yourself you're right in allowing Donald to genocide harder and in more countries.

[–] sub_ubi@lemmy.ml 1 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (2 children)

When you were a kid learning about Nazis, did you ever imagine yourself begging people to vote for a guy actively carrying out a genocide?

[–] jumjummy@lemmy.world 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Once again I ask these tankies, what is your suggestion come November? If the answer isn’t vote for Biden, you’re helping Trump. When you come back to reality, that’s just the simple truth.

[–] sub_ubi@lemmy.ml -3 points 4 months ago

Vote in solidarity with the victims of the genocide. Listen to what they're saying, listen to pro-Palestinian groups.

[–] barsquid@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago (2 children)

When your middle school class gets to their unit on Nazis, perhaps you'll discover why it is bad to assist the openly racist authoritarian demagogue who did a putsch, screeches "fake news" at everything, and wants SCOTUS to hand him a long knife.

[–] PugJesus@lemmy.world 0 points 4 months ago

Oh no, they'll just make a nice little Molotov-Ribbentrop pact with the openly racist authoritarian demagogue, while still claiming to be the only people TRULY opposed to fascism.

Are any major pro-Palestine groups encouraging us to vote for Biden? Can you point to any policy or action that lessened the genocide? What "line in the sand" has Biden drawn? What punishments has he meted out on Israel?

It's a fact that he's a lifelong, hardcore Zionist. The only sane conclusion is that the genocide is fully supported by the president.

[–] barsquid@lemmy.world 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

You wish to pretend that Donald isn't an openly racist authoritarian demagogue, didn't do an insurrection, and isn't asking courts to consider that he should murder his political opponents.

I also don't know why assisting Bibi's preferred candidate will help stop anything either.

You really just have the one track to play. Almost as if you are deliberately disingenuous. Ah, yes, .ml. An accelerationist who wants Russia and China to gain ground.

[–] sub_ubi@lemmy.ml -3 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

There are no major pro-Palestinian groups asking Americans to vote for Biden. They've asked us to protest. They've asked us to write to our congresspeople. They've asked us to boycott.

They're the targets of these American-made bombs, so I've done what they've asked. Have you?

[–] barsquid@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

In addition to that, I will also be voting against Bibi's preferred candidate with the only other viable option. Are you?

Fucking weird how "opposing genocide" for you comes in the form of doing the same actions the genocidal state's preferred party wants people to take.

But of course that's because you aren't against genocide at all. You are just pro-Trump, because that's what best assists China and Russia.

[–] sub_ubi@lemmy.ml -4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

It's ok to admit you don't care about Palestinians. It's not like I'll think less of you.

[–] barsquid@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

You are fine with Bibi's preferred candidate winning and increasing genocide if it means China and Russia can gain from it. You are find with the wholesale slaughter of Palestinians, Uyghurs, and Ukrainians.

[–] sub_ubi@lemmy.ml -2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

You seem very set on Biden as a the more pro-Palestine candidate, so please, show me some Palestinian groups who agree with you. US Campaign for Palestinian Rights. Jewish Voice for Peace. American Muslims for Palestine. Link me one I haven't heard of!

Or do you know better? Perhaps they don't realize their best interests, but you do?

[–] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Show me one that ebdorses a candidate for president

[–] sub_ubi@lemmy.ml -2 points 4 months ago (1 children)
[–] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 1 points 4 months ago (1 children)

So you have no point. Since they don't say anything about either president then there's nothing wrong with choosing one and saying yeah this is probably best for them since they aren't saying the opposite. They aren't saying anything on the subject. You were certainly suggesting that they either endorsed a third party or endorsed not voting. Neither of which is true

[–] sub_ubi@lemmy.ml -2 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

Maybe we're reading different threads? barsquid was saying Biden was better for Palestinians than Trump, and this was reason enough to vote for him. I asked which pro-Palestinian groups agreed with him.

As you pointed out, none of them do.

[–] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 0 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

You have no proof either way.

Absence of sharing an opinion isn't absence of an opinion.

[–] sub_ubi@lemmy.ml -2 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

USPC endorses local, state, and federal candidates across the country. Here's why they're not endorsing Biden, https://uspalestiniancouncil.org/latest-action/arab-american-agenda

USPC lays out the requirements for Biden to gain their endorsement. We should all demand that Biden accept them, rather than shame one another into voting for genocide.

[–] imPastaSyndrome@lemm.ee 1 points 4 months ago (1 children)

They aren't "not endorsing" him, the latter paragraph is closer to the truth

[–] sub_ubi@lemmy.ml -1 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) (1 children)

Correct, so next time you're pressuring someone to vote for Biden for the sake of Palestinians, remember that they don't share your strategy.

At least I have my humanity. I can't say the same for US ghouls handwaving their genocide.
