Me coming back after a long hiatus is slowly but surely becoming a running gag; so yeah, I did a damn good wetshave again.
2 pass head shave. I underhydrated the lather a tiny bit, but it was still a very comfortable shave. FMoM is truly great, it's kinda close to HoM Tobacconist which is definitely in my Top 3, so I like it a lot!
After my midterm exams and working for two days, I had some time to recover now and began to engross myself in different creative things: I started seriously learning keyboard and bass guitar (yup, parallel - it's kinda crazy but it has its benefits already) and took up reading more again since I want to start writing my own stuff. Today I started American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis in english - so far I am fine despite english only being my second language. Did you know that Patrick Bateman recommended lathering with a brush since it lifts beard hair up better? Well, now you know!
I also have tomorrow off so I'll try to do something cool. Have a great week, folks!
Well, as an American, I'm often told by friends in the UK, and multi-lingual Europeans, that my English is atrocious :-)
Not so sure one should place a high value on info from Patrick Bateman ;-)
That seems like snobbery to me. Your posts are well readable and more people should realise that there's quite a sizable difference between British English and American English.
Oh, definitely not. I just thought it was an interesting tidbit since this was completely omitted in the movie scene. Didn't really think that the vain yuppie psycho killer would recommend a shaving brush - then again, it's set in the 80s where brush use was far more common. Also, no offense meant since I am also guilty of this: the way we describe our routines in wetshaving down to the smallest detail is very akin to Patrick Bateman's inner monologue - at least the one in the book.
Honestly, these insults are generally good natured. Many people in my generation aren't particularly emotionally sensitive, and some of us don't mind a bit of banter.
Oh, I understand. There's been worse said to me and said by me to others during friendly banter. Just wanted to remark that I genuinely find your posts and comments well-written and can't imagine your spoken word to be worse. Simple text-based communication is not that well suited to convey such hidden compliments. No ill intent towards your friends from my side ✌🏻
