So I was at supermarket the other day, low key jamming out to Coles Radio as you do in your 30s apparently. Then they play a new taylor swift song. And something inside me just... snaps. Previously I was like "Ok, talented artist but getting a bit over the hype". Now I think i actually hate her. Like I cant even do some shopping without having to hear her shit? The song sucked. It was all mopey and shit and felt like 0 effort, but its somehow still getting air time? I hate even posting this cause I feel like its just giving more air time, but I need to vent my frustrations. cant we all (myself included) just move on!?
I shop at Leoβs occasionally. They have the best 80s mix tape every time. A real bop. Bowie, Tears for Fears, New Order etc..
We should rank supermarket mix tapes haha.>
Just wait until xmas. At the kew store mariah and bublay coming atchya..
legit would take that over the atrocity I heard Saturday. At least Mariah has heart to her, it may be terrible but its not soulless.
Aldi would win because they don't play anything. It's probably a cost saving measure on their end but I'd rather listed to nothing than supermarket music and it's probably better for people on the spectrum as well
Have felt like that about Kylie Minogue for over 30 years now. And high rotation is a major reason why I will NEVER buy a particular artist.
interesting! I suppose it really applies to whatever generations "It" girl is hey?
Reckon so. Kylie came along a bit after those uncritical teenage years, when whatever you hear most often on the radio becomes the tribal anthem for that generation. For me it was Chuck Berry and then the Beatles.
I have zero interest in taylor swift, it's music for young teen girls or angry older teen girls . I find it boring but then I'm not the target market
TIL I'm an angry/young teen girl
I barely register what's on the radio. I'm in and out in less than 15 minutes, concentrating on not forgetting anything I may need because I don't want to come back for awhile.
