An online space for the vegans of Lemmy.
Rules and miscellaneous:
- We take for granted that if you engage in this community, you understand that veganism is about the animals. You either are vegan for the animals, or you are not (this is not to say that discussions about climate/environment/health are not allowed, of course)

Changing from buying their stuff to not buying it maybe?
Do I have "direct control" over the US government because I can withhold my vote come election day?
Not much, admittedly, but not eating seafood does a heck of a lot more than not using straws.

And what change in outcome did refusing a straw cause?
a "small victory" doesn't imply a direct, tangible impact
