And here I was 3 days ago watching a 60+yo enthusiastic beer drinker in budgie smugglers buying sausages and bread at the local IGA and no one blinked an eye.

Beach town though so free pass to him.

enthusiastic and budgie smuggler shouldn't be in the same sentence

But you noticed. Had he been wearing appropriate attire you wouldn't be telling this story.

appropriate attire

This is where it becomes confusing for me.

For the setting it is appropriate, this IGA is next to a beach and people walk in wearing their beach stuff, both / all sexes, all ages.

In Melbs I'd be scratching my head if I saw it heh

Yeah I guess.

I once saw a man in a chemist talking to the staff dressed as Hugh Hefner. That's probably the weirdest I've seen.

I've seen fluffy slippers and gown in a supermarket before. Does that count?

Did you see the guy on the news recently complaining about too many people (women, I think) wearing g-string bathers, and he didn’t want to see all the bums? It was on a beach in QLD, and somewhat off the beach too

Heh I did see that and thought it was ridiculous.

It's 2024 c'mon.
