Drove to Buchan and back today. Boy what a pretty valley. Too bad the house I went to look at was F U C K E D. From the dirt to the sky that house was fucked. I've lived in some rough places but this was next level. https://www.domain.com.au/5554-buchan-orbost-road-buchan-vic-3885-2019045349
EDIT: and by rough, one place I squatted had a hole in the roof where rain came into the room and it was still better than this place I just looked at.
Does it have water and power?
Made me think of this lady who bought a rundown house https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-02-19/struggling-to-pay-rent-alys-bought-dilapidated-outback-home/103480108
Yep, town water and working power. Septic tank looked like the best thing about the place. Another $10k for a caravan and I could make it work. But the house is best put in skips.
Fair hike all the way out there and back! That house is for sure a tear-down.
The floor was Alice in Wonderland grade wild, and springy. The stumps and most of the flooring had dropped 10-15cm sloping away from the fireplaces.
Thats... rustic.
Definitely needs a new err.. lick of paint.
And huh.. is that 2 fireplaces pretty much right next to eachother?
Best thing I could do would be an insurance job.
I looked at that too and thought why?
I wanna get out of the city, the view is amazing, I can buy it outright.
I'm talking about the 2 fireplaces. There's a story there.
Living away from the city is amazing. Cleaner air. Parking's a breeze. I support you.
back to back. Pretty common, meant one chimney
