Torching the Google car: Why the growing revolt against big tech just escalated
(www.bloodinthemachine.com)
Big brain tech dude got yet another clueless take over at HackerNews etc? Here's the place to vent. Orange site, VC foolishness, all welcome.
This is not debate club. Unless it’s amusing debate.
For actually-good tech, you want our NotAwfulTech community
@self it's not a revolt against big tech. It's a revolt against bad technology rushed out that hurts people being forced into people's lives.
what's the difference
Mm-hmm, late-stage capitalism and big tech enshittification are bosom buddies. Were it not for Silicon Valley's machinations, robots taking our jobs could have been a good thing.
@BlueMonday1984 yeah I suppose you could link the two. But I kinda think not all big tech is in a rush to kill me with poorly tested goods. This also has implications of guilt from the government, I mean the whole allowing Elon to test his half assed autopilot cars on the road wouldn't work in the EU without lawsuits.
The tagline of big tech is literally 'move fast and break things' this was always going to end badly when we moved away from software on peoples home/work machines to the wider world.
why not both
if only Elon would literally test his half-assed autopilot cars like that guy who tested his company's bullet-proof vests with live ammo
let's not forget that he did - that bit of embarrassment is likely a guarantee that he'll never try again. narcissists really don't like to be contradicted or shown to be wrong in general. amps up way the fuck more in public
if only his sycophants would hold him to that bare minimum. Evidence that he trusts the cars with his life as much as they do with theirs
