A good first step is using clover to fill in patchy spots.
It beings in pollinators and rabbits, and pulls nitrogen from the air to fertilize the poor soil. Eventually grass spreads in and the clover moves to other areas with bad soil, because that's where they can out compete the grass
A huge bonus is clover will eventually stop growing higher than you mow. Meaning you'll have to mow less often.
Why would you want rabbits ? That seems like a negative for garden
Good luck getting foxes and falcons if you don't have rabbits.
I'll just be over here living like a Disney princess.
No falcons or foxes in the country. Would be helpful to reduce the pests. If anything I need less rabbits
Thead's about lawns, not gardens. Different things.
I don't want rabbits eating my clover either. If you want that. Then great. I don't. Rabbits eat enough of my veg. Trash my place.
Rabbits deserve to live too
edit: Oh my bad, actually fuck everything but humans. Sorry, I thought this was a community focused on alternatives to traditional monocultures, not the perpetuation of conventional horticulture. That's my mistake. Hey, I hear bluegrass is beautiful this time of year, let's all plant that! I know a guy who will come out and kill all your rabbits, dogs, goats, cats, squirrels, bats, mice, birds, lizards, snakes, cows, for free*! No more pesky critters eating all your food on your land.
*Free at the time of purchase. eventual charges include but will not be limited to ecological collapse and biodiversity loss. See the state of the fucking planet for details.
Sorry, but you are really overreacting to a genuine question here.
Rabbits are an invasive species in many parts of the world, which do a lot of ecological damage.
But I am closing this thread now as you both expressed your opinions and apparently there is too much of a disagreement for it to make sense to continue this discussion.
Are you angry at me because I don't want rabbits ? That's an interesting one.
What a stance. I'll drop my cows and dogs off at your house. Feel free to feed them. I'll get angry if you don't.
Yeah, guy, if you abandoned the care of those animals on my doorstep, I would take care of them to the best of my abilities. That's what you're supposed to do. I suppose you'd just murder your dog otherwise? Get angry?
Was that supposed to be some kind of gotcha?
What's your deal ? Are you just angry or something ? You think I should feed pests ? You want to feed the rats and mice too ?
I don't follow your mad concept about feeding pests. So i must want to kill all animals.
I would justify my stance. But I don't think I will. What's the point
I think you shouldn't encourage their indiscriminate murder in an ecology community at the very least. I'm done speaking to you. Forever.
Where the fucking murder ?
My loss isn't it.
Poor me.
How will I cope.
A deranged looney won't talk to me
I've had a good few hours to think about it.
Don't care if you see it or not. Not really for you. Just cathartic.
I will rip up my clover. Burn it. Chip down the hundreds of trees I've planted. Burn em.
And just for you I will go out tonight hunting and shoot as many rabbits as I can find. Considering I'm residing on a couple of hectares. Should be a daily large bunch.
Thanks mate. Appreciate it
