I was trying to use a mandolin to remove the wax from a section of Gouda cheese, and slipped. Chopped off about 3mm of my thumb and about 5mm of thumbnail.

I had to look up what you were referring too as a mandolin. I was thinking of a small stringed instrument.

big blade. to pump your food against.

not ot be confused with:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandarin_orange
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandarin_Chinese https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandolin

i have only ever heard mandolinSLICER. i can see why that would be confusing.
