I never played the first one, so I don't know what better features are missing. But I love this game so far.

There's a few small nagging issues I have with the game, but I don't see why it got so much negative press so early on. It's a little content light, but it's still plenty fun and the city building and economic simulation tools seem like a great foundation for the future.
And once mods get involved? Ooh! This is gonna be good
That's what I'm sayin! Foundation is solid enough I could sink a couple hundred hours in this game EASILY!
