They were not ready to pay the amount we asked and neither De Jong salary demands.

Barcelona accepted and reached an agreement on the sale of FDJ. United just never reached an agreement on personal terms with FDJ because he didn't want to move. This is well established and not even speculation.

United were ready to pay normal transfer fees not the transfer fees including deferred wages. De Jong did not want to leave Barcelona but United did not put a convincing bid to force Laporta to tell De Jong is not in the Barcelona plan. Even Liverpool are not cheapskate.
