The problem is that it is being used as a profit center for banks on people who don't have a lot of money. They've also found cases where some banks will prioritize withdrawals over deposits independent of dates to drive up overdraft fees.
Sure, that's fair. But spending beyond your means is also providing them an opportunity to capitalize on the offenders
