Dragon Age origins.
Exceptional writing and I walked right into it just expecting a cool fantasy game. I got hit with my first experience of in game romances, the shock of betrayal, the sacrifices... It was such a brilliant experience. Makes me really, really want to play it again now.
Man, Bioware before EA got it is still the only company that made me just stop and think about the choices I'm making as a regular experience.
I sat at the Rachni Queen choice for an hour just thinking about the consequences.
Then it didn't even matter in ME3.
