He's right. LJ has a habit of coming and going. It's nothing new.
Sync was always a full time gig. The company was incorporated some 10 years ago, LJ didn't have a full time job for quite some time.
Hmm. I did not know that. I thought sync started as more of a side project
It very well might have, but then really 10+ years ago. LJ was still doing a PhD for some time during the development, but finished in 2018 or so I believe.

I don't think it will. Most clients have updated to be compatible so it doesn't look particularly hard
Sync (at least for me) is broken with the latest rc build. I'm fine with this because I'm the silly that is running alpha/beta/rc builds of lemmy on my instance.
