Alcohol stoves are cool but butane has like 3x the energy density (50 MJ/kg vs ~15-20 MJ/kg), so even with the heavier canister your actualy getting more heat per gram carried lol.

You're probably right. I haven't actually been camping since I made this thing, but, from what I've read, people like alcohol for its slower quieter burn.

Technically you could just turn your butane down real low and get a similar effect ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

IDK, I'm gonna try it once and form my own opinion.
