Religion already cherry picks the parts it wants to enforce, getting simple facts straight is a bridge too far for blind faith.

You can't change the race to reinforce historical and present power dynamics. Changes that don't affect the dynamics or which counter them are fine.

You can change Jesus. Just not to races that have appropriated him as a symbol while oppressing his people.
Doesn't that rule out pretty much everyone or what would you find acceptable to change him into?
Drag doesn't think the Koreans have oppressed the middle easterners. Or the Ethiopians. Or the Cherokee.
Would making him look like a Finn or Latvian be okay? Or maybe Belarusian?
